Played on a smaller court/pitch, no walls, special ball
Futsal (also seen as Futsol), also known as "Five-A-Side," is the only FIFA sanctioned indoor soccer game. As described on Gus Donolo's site, Soccer the Brazilian Way,
"[Futsal] is played without walls and with a smaller and reduced-bounce ball. Futsal can be played indoors or outdoors and is played on a court similar in size to a basketball court. Futsal -- with no walls and a smaller reduced-bounce ball -- demands quickness, vision and excellent ball skills from the player. There is no better way than Futsal to develop and hone these qualities in a youth player. All the great South American soccer players developed their awesome skills growing up playing Futsal. The top South American and European teams recognize this and have all incorporated Futsal into their training programs."
Coaches and managers, please send us your recommendations for indoor and futsal facilities, clinics and leagues that ATSC teams have previously particpated in or are currently participating in. Name and any basic info is all we need, although you can send more than that, and we'll add the info here.
Let us know if we can use your team's name in conjunction with the information.
