Dear Coaches and Managers:

The North Tract Presentation to the County Board is on the agenda for this Saturday, February 21.  We expect the discussion to take place mid-morning, including a public hearing where interested citizens can offer their support as part of the presentation.  When we get more specific details I will forward the information to you.  If you have team members who would like a civics lesson in their County government at work, please consider attending the meeting to voice your support for additional soccer fields in the one remaining open space in Arlington.

On another matter, this weekend a player broke her arm at practice in the Gunston bubble.  The ensuing hospital admission made us all mindful of the importance of keeping a copy of the consent and medical authorization forms handy.  I’m attaching a proposed revised version of the form which will include information allowing a responsible adult to receive information from an attending physician regarding a player’s injury.  Please make sure you have duplicate copies of the consent form with your coach at every practice and scrimmage so that the hospital can admit a player in the event of an injury.  Also, please make sure your teams are using the appropriate form.  Unless I hear comments to the contrary, I plan to incorporate these amendments into our form which is posted on the website and the sample we enclose in the managers manual.
