About Arlington Travel Soccer Club

Arlington Travel Soccer Club (ATSC) is located in Arlington, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC.  Our teams play in three leagues in the Washington, DC area:  the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL, boys age U9-U19), the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS, girls age U11-U19), and the Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL, boys and girls age U9-U19).

The purpose and mission of ATSC is to develop, administer, and promote a program for providing Arlington and Falls Church youths with the opportunity to acquire and develop superior soccer skills through higher levels of competition and greater coaching expertise.  The Club focuses on player development, especially in the younger ages, with the goal of developing skilled players who can compete effectively on the field.

ATSC, originally the Arlington Youth Soccer Club, was formed in 1977 to govern the travel teams of the Arlington Soccer Association.  For a number of years, the club sponsored the Arlington Thanksgiving Invitational Soccer Tournament, before giving up in the face of challenging weather conditions.  Starting with a handful of boys teams, and adding girls teams in the early 80s, ATSC now fields 21 girls and 21 boys teams in the three travel leagues.

ATSC is a member of the Arlington Soccer Association (ASA), which is the governing body for youth soccer activities in Arlington County.  A Board of Directors manages the administrative responsbilities of ATSC.  Board membership includes the President, Girls and Boys Commissioners, Secretary, Treasurer, Tryout Chair, Boys and Girls Coach Representatives, Boys and Girls Player Representatives, and a Member-at-Large.  Various committee chairs, including the league Club Representatives, participate in club management.  Day to day club operations are managed by the Executive Director, Nancy Etkin, and the Director of Coaching, Grant Smith.
