Coaches' Bios
Head Coach Matt Barlow has been coaching soccer since 1991.  He holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Advanced National and National Youth coaching diplomas as well as the United States Soccer Federation National C coaching license.  He also holds the NSCAA Goalkeeping Level I Diploma, the British FA Psychology for Soccer Level I Certificate as well as being Red Cross CPR and First Aid certified and having been an USSF certified referee since 1998. 
 
Coach Barlow will begin his 8th season with the Arlington Travel Soccer Club in the fall of 2004 and has lead the U13 boys' Legend to promotion in the prestigious National Capital Soccer League 3 out of a possible 4 seasons.  He has also been the Head Boys' JV Coach at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC for the past 3 seasons.  Coach Barlow played collegiately at both Lynchburg College and Colby College.  Coach Barlow lives with his wife Diana in Falls Church, VA.

 
Assisting Coach Barlow, is Coach Matt Massey a former player at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College), earning all conference honors 3 years and captaining the team his senior year.  Coach Massey is assisting the Legend for the 5th season.  Coach Massey holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Delaware and currently resides in Bethesda, MD.

 
New to the Legend coaching staff is second assistant, Adi Gelem, starting his 2nd season in the fall of 2004.  Coach Gelem is a former player at VA Tech.  Coach Gelem will also be assisting the U13 Fusion.  Coach Gelem has several years coaching experience in the Richmond area and currently resides in Arlington, VA.
